Hope In

This article is inspired by a talk, titled The Atonement, given by President Boyd K. Packer.

The Atonement is such a universal topic in our lives that many of us are unaware of the efficacy and capacity that is contained within the very realm of this mere title of a loving and affection act.

Our lives get busy, hectic and filled with so much that our minds become so overwhelmed and rundown. At moments we simply go through the daily routine of life without thought of any reaction or consequence. Its only until something happens, usually something major that stops us in our direct path and we are left to pick up the pieces and stop and think. We don't typically take time away to think about our day to day life.

For many people these moments of hardship come more and more often than not. There is hope in the Atonement of Jesus Christ for all things. President Boyd K Packer addresses such issues as the one just recently depicted.

Hope In

"I speak today to those who may be lost and are searching for that lower light to help guide them back."

                                                                                                                             - Boyd K. Packer

For many of us we are searching for something and its not until something reacts that we actually realize this truth hidden beneath. There is a path and a way that we find and that leads to happiness and joy. President Packer testifies that this path is most likely a path taken individually and constructively to help us change our very nature and become new in Christ.

"If you have made no mistakes, then you do not need the Atonement."

                                                                                                                             - Boyd K. Packer

The Atonement is for those that have made mistakes and have sinned but it is more than just for sinners. Alma 7:11-12 we understand more than just the mere surface of this eternal act.

"And he shall go forth, suffering pains and afflictions and temptations of every kind; and this that the word might be fulfilled which saith he will take upon him the pains and the sicknesses of his people. And he will take upon him death, that he may loose the bands of death which bind his people; and he will take upon him their infirmities, that his bowels may be filled with mercy, according to the flesh, that he may know according to the flesh how to succor his people according to their infirmities."

We do not even begin to comprehend the Atonement and all that it entails or expounds to but we can come to understand a portion of this heavenly gift given. Through these verses we understand just a little more that the Atonement is not just for sins or mistakes but for those that sorrow and need support. Christ has felt all and we can find comfort and hope in the Atonement of Jesus Christ. It is real and all powerful if we are searching and need hope have hope in the Atonement for there we will find great power and comfort within our hearts.
